Professor Vaughan Keeley


Vaughan Keeley is a Consultant Physician specialising in Lymphoedema in the UK. He developed the Lymphoedema service in Derby, Nottingham and Mansfield. The service has recently been endorsed by NHS England as a specialist service for paediatric and primary Lymphoedema and is part of VascERN, the European Reference Network for Vascular Rare Diseases.

He developed and validated the LYMQOL quality of life tool. He is currently involved in several research projects including 2 that focus on breast cancer related lymphoedema, specifically its early detection and possible prevention and a study of the prevalence of chronic oedema in obesity and its response to bariatric surgery.

He is an Honorary Professor at the University of Nottingham and is a Director of the International Lymphoedema Framework (ILF) and Chair of the ILF scientific committee.
