Larisa Chernukha is currently the leading research fellow of the Department of Vascular Surgery, National Institute of Surgery and Transplantology of National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine.
Larisa graduated with an honours degree from Kyiv Medical University in 1983 with specialty in General Medicine. Following this, she completed her Candidate of Medical Sciences degree (Ph.D) in 1994 and Doctor of Medical Sciences (second Ph.D) in 2004.
Dr Chernukha is an author of more than 250 publications. She is also on the Editorial board of Clincial Phlebology (Kiev – chief editor), Phlebology (Moscow), Cardiac Surgery and Interventional Cardiology (Kiev), Angiology and Vascular Surgery (Moscow) and Surgery New (Vitebsk).
Larisa is the Vice-President of Association of Vascular Surgeons, Phlebologists, Angiologists of Ukraine and an advisor vascular surgeon to the Ministry of Health of Ukraine and Governmental working groups on thrombosis and prevention of venous thromboembolism.
