Dr. Evangelista’s practice is a specialist centered in microfoam ecoguided sclerotherapy treatment, being among the first to adopt this method in Brazil. Today, she is the founder and director of the Varizemed clinic (affiliated with the International Institute of Phlebology in Spain). At her clinic, Dr. Evangelista and her team perform state-of-the-art microfoam treatment, the techniques of which she learned during her time at the Clinicas Cabrera in Spain. She is also centered around hemodynamic research and the treatment of venous diseases. She has taught over twenty training-courses on APG, with a focus on calf musculo-venous pumping and reflux. She has written chapters on APG for many reference works in Brazil.
She has served as President of the Brazilian Soceity for Angiology and Vascular Surgery – Minas Gerais, during which time she created the bi-annual International Venous Symposium (SIF). She presided over the first three of these SIF events, which continue until today. She has coordinated over 25 international scientific forums aimed at fostering discussion on a variety of topics, often controversial ones, in order to arrive at a consensus regarding best practices in phlebology.
She also has served as Vice president of the Brazilian Soceity for Angiology and Vascular Surgery (2010 – 2011)
