Dr Albert-Adrien Ramelet

Dr Dr h.c. Albert-Adrien Ramelet is a Swiss Specialist (FMH) in Dermatology, Angiology and Phlebology. He trained in Lausanne, Basle, Paris and Vienna. He was active in a private office of Dermatology and Phlebology in Lausanne for 35 years. He is presently a Consultant and Lecturer at the Inselspital, University of Bern.
He has been Chairman of the Swiss Society of Dermatology, the Swiss Society of Phlebology, the Union of Swiss Vascular Societies, and of the French-Speaking Dermatologists Association.
As a former Vice-President of the Union Internationale de Phlébologie, he is an Honorary member of the UIP, an Emeritus Fellow of the Australasian College of Phlebology, and honorary member of 8 other Scientific Societies. He was the editor of 3 textbooks. He has also written more than two hundred book chapters and publications, and invented Ramelet’s phlebectomy hooks.

Where do you see the industry in the next 10 years?
Ideally a perfect and honest cooperation with independent medical searchers and clinicians, in the absolute respect of good medical practice, to develop really effective drugs and devices to prevent and treat acute and chronic vascular disorders. But may be this is just a dream…
